Hi, I'm Christa Bowling, chief designer here at Southern Hills Designs.  I love all types of needlework and draw inspiration from the many different forms.  As I think it generally happens, I started by making patterns for myself when I couldn't find patterns I liked already in the market.  Then in 2008, at the urging of my friends and family, I decided to form Southern Hills Designs and offer these to the public.

With the help of my husband, the patterns I make are fun and fun to do and the subjects are a mixture of primitive and whimsical. I love to create using many different needlework techniques. Working in punchneedle, cross-stitch, rug hooking and rug punch provide me with lots of inspiration. I am just starting the journey of designing and I can’t wait to see what comes next.
